Tet holiday

The year of Dragon is gonna be on January 23rd. I officially have nine days off for the Tet holiday or the Lunar New Year holiday. Only some Asian countries celebrate it. Chinese people are everywhere on the globe so people just call it Chinese New Year. After two year studying in Australia without Tet, I lost the motivation for preparing for it and I don’t like this holiday anymore. I used to help my parent to sell flowers at the market (my parent grow traditional flowers for the Tet holiday), clean the house, decorate altars of our ancestors, cook the year end dinner and run many other errands. So, it’s all about five years ago. I’m lazier, I don’t wanna do anything for it. I don’t feel connected to the tradition and costumes anymore. It’s not only me but other people also have the feeling. They want the holiday go faster. They travel somewhere on these days. I don’t have anywhere to go so I go to my parent’s and stay there for some days. I actually don’t want to but I don’t wanna make them sad and I don’t wanna answer a lot of questions from my relatives and siblings. The only one thing I wanna do is to visit my grandma. This afternoon or tomorrow morning, I’m gonna ride home. The national route might be over crowded as usual. Haizzz!!

  1. Happy New Year Tai. What is your Chinese horoscope? sign? Mine is rooster, ha, you can work out exactly how old I am.

    • Thanks, Andrew! Happy New Year!
Mine is snake. Yes, I can work it out but I’m not sure I’m gonna make you older or younger 12 years

  2. I’m a dog! And you, Tai?

    • I’m a snake. 2013 will be my year. In the year of your sign, it can be an unlucky year. We’ll see.

      • Ssssssssssssss Please let us know in advance if you are going to start shedding your skin. ;-)

        • Hahaha I’d shed my skin if I move to temperate zone like Sussex

          • Does it mean that if I come to your country you will swallow me WHOLE? Nice!

            • I wanna bite you actually

  3. I think I am a Tiger, or an Aardvark, I forget which.

    • Yes, you’re a tiger.

      • I think I am more Aardvark.

        • Sorry to disappoint you Dr. Spo, there is no Aardvark in 12 zodiac animals

  4. I am a Rat! (No comment from the Peanut Gallery!) ;)

    • Rat takes the first place in 12 animal zodiacs. Glory!
